Old skool – Motor bikes

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Check out what one of my friends made : A motorised cycle!

“Hi, It started out as a Huffy Beach Cruiser that I bought at a Thrift Store for $15 and it kind of got out of control from there. The fuel tanks are old pump style fire extinguishers from the early 1900’s and has kersone lanterns from the late 1800’s which have been bulbed and wired for light along with sirens from the 50’s that run off a 6 volt battery and Power Wheels motors. The sidecar started life at another Thrift Store as a pull behind cart that a small child would ride in behind a parents bike and it went from there. The sidecar frame is wooden covered with canvas and sealed. I don’t know why I built it except just to see if I could and with a lot of trial and error I got what you see. My Very First motorcycle show I went to I won “First Place” in the antique class and won “Best Fabrication” of the entire show! I’m pretty pleased with the way it turned out, what do you think? Coming soon are pictures of my son’s OCC Stingray bike which is where all this really got started. By the way thats him riding in the sidecar in the Avatar while it was in the cardboard mockup stage”

Biker’s penis hit by lightning

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

A Croatian motorbiker’s penis was struck by lightning when he pulled over to urinate after a long journey.

Ante Djindjic is  29 and from  the Croatian city of Zagreb, was travelling back home after having a fight with his current girl friend. Reporters spoke to him from hospital and  he said the following:

”I don’t remember what happened. One minute I was taking a leak and the next thing I knew I was in hospital.Doctors said the lightning went through my body and because I was wearing rubber boots it earthed itself through my penis.”

Struck by lightning

Djindjic, suffered heavy burns to his upper body and lower arms but had recovered enough in the next 3 days to go for a pint to celebrate the birth of his son. He said to local reporters:

“Thankfully, the doctors said that there would be no lasting effects, and my penis will function normally eventually.”

So there might be another little Djindjic running around in the next 9 months!

Motorbike Link Competition

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

Amerbhita village near to Dubri town in India is home to the latest motorbike based Guinness Record. A 31 year old businessman named Mizanur Rahman told reporters for the Daily Telegraph that:

“He has always been driven by a passion to do something out of the ordinary”

I got to say that sounds like the biggest understatement that I have ever heard.

Rahman decided to get 18 boys on his scooter whilst he rode in to town! When in Mombassa i saw up to 3 on a Bajaj but never anything even near 18. Luckily Dhubri superintendent of police was able to protect him whilst he broke the world record.

The article does not mention what Motorbike that he is riding but it does have an image:

If you can tell me what Motorbike it is, I will post a link to your blog/website (as long as it aint illegal ;)

Dealer take off Mustang parts are a great way to save more money!

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

It goes without saying at this point that you should shop your car on-line before pulling the trigger and actually making the purchase. But did you know you could save a significant amount of money by purchasing factory dealer take off styling options and other easy to install parts online as well? That’s right! The same exact factory parts that you would buy from the dealership are available online at significant discounts through factory approved vendors.

When customers go in to the dealership to purchase a new vehicle they like to customize it, to make it truly their own. Items like floormats, emblems and badges and other interior and exterior trim are upgraded all the time. The dealership takes these parts off of the car in question and replaces them with the upgraded option. This leaves a surplus of stock factory parts which technically can’t be sold as new even though the majority of dealer take off parts have fewer than five miles of operation.

So the dealership takes these parts and sells them to approved vendors or liquidators who in turn sell them to folks like you and me who are smart enough to look for a real bargain! Just look at the savings on these dealer takeoff factory Ford Mustang parts listed below:

Factory Ford GT Mustang Leather Shift Knob

A Factory Ford GT Mustang Leather Shift Knob for only $34.99 Shipped!

2005 - 2008 OEM Ford GT Mustang Chrome Rear Deck Lid Emblem

A Factory Ford 2005 – 2008 OEM Ford GT Mustang Chrome Rear Deck Lid Emblem for only $29.99 Shipped!

2005 – 2008 Factory Ford Mustang GT Black Front Floor Mats for only $39.99 Shipped!

2005 – 2008 OEM Ford Mustang GT 4.6L Air Box Assembly Including Air Filter for only $44.99 Shipped!

So if you’re in the market to purchase a new car you may want to buy the car without the add-ons, then go shopping online after, and if you are looking at sprucing up a car that you already own you may want to pass on purchasing the parts at the dealership and look for some dealer takeoffs!

Scooter to drive home drunks

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Down in sunny Plymouth a couple of marines have thought up a great business idea. The Business is called Scooter Chauffeur LTD and it’s main aim is to reduce drink driving on the city roads. It is aimed at people who drive and go for a few pints > which then turns into a heavy session. So now instead of getting back into your car and closing one eye [I never did this, honest :) ] you will now be able to ring Scooter Chauffeur. Scooter Chauffeur will then send out a rider on one of those super pocket bike style scooters and will then attempt to find the pub where you are currently bladder-ed. The scooter that they use are ones that can be folded up small enough to fit into a bag which is then thrown in your boot (assuming you got a boot.)

Tony Finn, company director, said: “We use small specially designed scooters to attend a client’s vehicle, fold the scooter up into sealed bags and drive the client home in their vehicle.

Mini Scooter Chauffeur

Once the scooter is successfully packed in the boot the rider will then drive your car home for you. Supposedly the price of calling out a scooter is cheaper than a two way taxi and is a damn site less trouble! In some of the pubs I have frequented in the past, I would not even think about leaving my car over night – or I would expect to find it on bricks in the morning.

To be honest this idea is not new, but I do think it is a good one. So next time your too bladder-ed to drive > ring up a Scooter Chauffeur (unless your on your scooter otherwise you can walk, you lazy ghet!)

2007 Toyota Camry Solara Review by cars.about

2007 Toyota Camry Solara Review

Camry has always been a conservatively-styled car, and that’s not changing for 2007. The new design is fresher and younger than the previous generation, with a higher waistline and smaller windows. Bucking the obesity trend, the 2007 Camry is the same length as the previous generation (189.2″) and only 1″ wider (71.7″), so it should still fit in your garage.

cars.about Reviewed the 2007 Toyota Camry Solara and gave out”Under the hood is where it gets really interesting. Camry is available with a choice of three different engines: a 2.4 liter inline 4 cylinder which cranks out 158 hp and 161 lb ft of torque; a 3.5 liter V6 that produces 268 hp and 248 lb ft of torque; and a hybrid gas-electric power plant that makes 147 hp and 137 lb ft of torque from its gas engine, and 45 hp and 203 lb ft of torque from its electric motor. Fuel economy should range from 25 city/34 highway for the 4 cylinder to 22 city/31 highway for the V6 to 43 city/37 highway/40 combined for the Hybrid…”

Useful advice for saving fuel while driving

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

The golden rule for any driver is to understand all the physics and functionality of the car.
Let’s look through some situations. Imagine that you have some troubles with wheel bearing, it has some defect. Let it be the front wheel. You hear some noise at low speed which becomes louder while developing higher speeds. Or [...]

Segway Scooter Catches Criminal

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

We have all seen our local cops cruising around the highway/motorway on their BMW R1100RT-Ps but what about seeing one on a scooter – or even a Segway?

Well according to the Chicago Tribune, police officer Thaddeus Martykas is the first on his force to catch a violent suspect using a Segway electric scooter. Officer Martykas was patrolling his beat when he heard gunfire and saw two suspects running from the scene. At this moment he whacked his Segway to top speed (ten to twelve miles an hour!) and pursued the suspects.

Going at full belt with his electric scooter – officer Martykas managed to catch one of the suspects three blocks away. Officer Martykas said:

“I followed the guy who tossed the gun, and he just got tired. He just gave up,”

The police force believe that the Segway’s help to pursue suspects to a point where tiredness finally catches up with them. As central district commander Kevin Ryan states:

“These don’t wear down. People do,”

Looking at the photo I would argue that the criminals are struck down with a fit of hysteria but hey it works so I ain’t complaining!
