2003 Toyota Corolla LE Alarm shut off?—by Michael T
I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla and am going to transport my car across the U.S. on a truck transport service. They require that you shut off the alarm so it won’t go off when the truck encounters bumps. I can turn it off with the remote but it automatically turns itself back on in 30 seconds. Is there a way to disarm it without disconnecting the battery cable so that it will stay off until I rearm it when they deliver it. If I leave it on or if it goes off and they can’t shut it off I would also drain my battery……HELP !!??

YOU DID NOT SPECIFY WHETHER YOUR CAR WAS EQUIPPED WITH A FACTORY ALARM OR AN AFTERMARKET ALARM.UNFORTUNATELY IF IT IS FACTORY THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF OTHER THAN DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY.IF IT IS AFTERMARKET THERE SHOULD BE A SWITCH UNDER THE DASH ON THE DRIVER’S SIDE.YOU TURN THE KEY ON AND TOGGLE THE SWITCH TO ON.THIS WILL SET THE ALARM TO BE ON VALET MODE AND WILL KEEP IT FROM TURNING ON.GOOD LUCK.
